Xerox N2125 Reviews and Information

I am the resident computer hardware geek in my fraternity. I know, I know, you think this job is loaded with all types of perks. What guy wouldn't want to have the pleasure of taking care of the hardware with all that goes on? Well, the perks are a joke. The only perk I got was an extra keyboard and mouse from IBC when he graduated. I think there were some AOL CDs as well - sweet.

No, the job demands that you either have lots of time to work on stuff, or buy good stuff so you don't have to worry about it. when our house needed a new laser printer, I bought the Xerox N2125 and have stopped worrying about it since.

Currently, we have 21 people living in our house and another 50 members of the house on campus, so the N2125 gets a lot of use. Lots of papers and such go through and there are no problems. The toughest work this printer gets is all of the resumés that go through it. From my experience, thick paper that is required to be manually fed are the toughest challenge for any laser printer. The N2125 does all of this with the simplest of ease. The quickest thing to drive somebody crazy is having to print 20 copies of your resumés and cover letter and having the printer break. After all the resumés drop dates (for you Dartmouth folk, Career Services is still a huge chaffe) it hasn't had a problem.

In the 6 months since the Xerox N2125 was purchased, we have replaced the toner once. We haven't had to change any settings, but if we had to, there is a nice LCD panel to set printer paramaters. The printer is plenty fast at 21 ppm. The only problem I have with the N2125 is in some of its PostScript capability. It seems Xerox went generic on its implementation in this model, but that seems the norm for this price range nowadays. If you stick to text without too many modifications, you won't notice the difference. If you're hardcore, you can add a duplex unit, stapler, large paper trays and all that stuff to make your office life easier.

If reliability is a major factor when you buy a printer, you have to look at the Xerox N2125.
