Photo Cartridges Explained

Most printers from any manufacturer have 4 colours installed for normal usage. Epson printers have individual cartridges per colour, but HP, Lexmark, Dell & Canon all offer photo cartridge options.

These printers will have a black cartridge and a triple colour cartridge installed for normal use, but the black can be removed & a photo cartridge containing 3 inks installed. This then means the printer has 6 colours available rather than the standard 4, so giving a better photo reproduction.

The black cartridge can be stored whilst not used and reinstalled when you have finished your photo printing.

Common photo cartridges include the follow models :-
