Like all Lexmark ink cartridges, the Lexmark No 60 ink cartridge has the actual print head, where the core inkjet technology lies, built directly into the cartridge itself. The principal advantage of the printhead being integrated into the cartridge is you get a new printhead every time you replace your Lexmark 60 ink cartridge! This is like getting a brand new printer every time! There is no risk of degradation of the printhead (and thus no decrease in print quality) during the life of the printer, as can often be the case with other manufacturers who build the print head as a fixed part of the printer itself.
