Printers To Come With Security Software According To McAfee
In what is being billed as the latest and greatest ink development, McAfee is planning to include some its security software in Xerox printers.
The move comes from the two companies following a survey which revealed that many employees were unaware as to what company policy was with regard to technology security.
Released last week jointly by Xerox and McAfee, the survey found that more than half of employees didn't always adhere to their organisation's IT security policies with 21 per cent claiming to be unaware of what those policies were.
Although most modern printers and copiers now hold images of documents in their embedded hard drives, just six per cent of respondents considered these devices to pose a serious threat to their company's network infrastructure.
This development follows hot on the heels of another made by Hewlett Packard which recently announced it is to include Autonomy search software in many of its printers.
