A baby shower is an opportunity for family and friends to celebrate the birth, or expectation, of a child. It's also an opportunity for the delighted mother and father to be "showered" with presents. The website suggests that a really good way to impress guests, and save a bit of cash, too, would be to use a Sharpie pen to create a "whimsical, homemade gift".

When creating some thank you gifts, like plastic baby bottles filled with sweets, a box of mementos, or even just a snack bowl, you could use a metallic Sharpie pen to write the name of the guest and the date of the baby shower on the side of the item. Tack on some plastic beads and hey-presto, you've a personal gift for your friend or family member to cherish.
