Primary School In Ink Cartridge Recycling Drive

A primary school in Lowestoft, Suffolk, has taken part in a recycling drive of old ink cartridges and mobile phones.

The Dell primary school took part in the Norwich-based RPC recycle scheme, which is a national fundraising campaign.

Through collecting old ink cartridges and mobile phones, the school was awarded a cheque for £164.

Beryl Hindes, head teacher of the school, told the Lowestoft Journal that they were "delighted to receive this cheque, and taking part in the recycling scheme was really simple."

She added: "Everyone at the school has been involved and we will keep collecting. It has been a great way to promote the importance of being green and raise extra funds too. By allowing the school council to decide what to spend the money on means that the children feel really involved."

The scheme was run by Waveney Norse and Waveney District Council, both located in the Lowestoft area.
