Shrinking Output Could Save Printer Ink

Individuals could cut their costs by printing two sheets of work on a single page, it has been suggested.

Rick Broida has written for PC World that there are numerous steps that an individual or business can take to reduce their printing costs. These include potentially opting for discounted printer ink or using a device's economy mode, which uses less ink but still provides readable output.

However, Mr Broida is particularly keen to note that shrinking output could prove a money-saving solution with the possibility of printing in the style typically seen with a booklet. He said: "Most printer drivers can fit two pages' worth of a document on a single sheet of paper. Each page gets reduced in size and rotated 90 degrees, so that two pages land side-by-side on one sheet."

Meanwhile, Mr Broida added that avoiding printed documents altogether and sending files to colleagues via email could also save both ink and paper.

Individuals were also recently told by articlesnatch.com that they could make their ink last longer by checking their work before pushing print to ensure that further copies do not need to be printed in the future.
