Office Depot Staff Face Court For Black Market Printer Ink Ring

Two former employees of Office Depot made millions from an online black market office ring supplying people with ink cartridges and printer ink.

According to prosecutors in Seattle, the two staff members set up the scheme selling products on eBay over the last five years.

The pair's illegal activity finally came to an end during a heist in April 2010, when security cameras caught them taking ink cartridges from the Office Depot warehouse.

Furthermore, the two men have been charge with seven counts of trafficking of stolen goods.

Recently, HP won a case against MicroJet Technology and Asia Pacific Microsystems for infringements against its ink cartridge copyrights.

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) ruled that there was an offence against HP's patent on the devices.

Andy Binder, director of inkjet and web solutions in printing at HP, said: "HP is pleased with the outcome on these matters and the ITC’s pursuit of legal enforcement against practices that violate intellectual property rights."
