How To Cancel A Print Job Without Wasting Paper

We've all been there. You find the online manual for your television you've been looking for, then send it to print. But wait! You quickly realise you only wanted the first couple of pages, and the printer's started shooting out the whole 100-page document!

A frustrating experience, I think we all agree, and a real waste of printer ink and paper. However, help is at hand. According to macworld.com, you have two options: One of which is to cancel the job from the printer or your computer.

To cancel from the printer, the website explained, either hit the 'cancel job' button or drag the paper out of the printer (being careful not to damage the machine, of course). In fact, this might be the best way to do it if you want to save paper, because sometimes a print job says it has cancelled but the paper continues to stream out.

"Removing the paper from the printer's input tray (or turning the printer off) won’t cancel the print job, but it will pause the printing, giving you time to take other steps to delete the mistake either from the unit or from your Mac," the website said.

Indeed, it might be a good time to start conserving printer paper. Recently, PrintWeek reported that printing firms could be set to pay considerably more for their paper next year, with a possible knock-on effect on the customer.
