A US ink and toner cartridge retailer has expanded its franchise operations in the Indian subcontinent.
Cartridge World's sixth store in the country was opened in the Lake Town area of Kolkata, which is in the West Bengal region of India.
Celebrating the launch, the company's chief executive in south Asia Naveen Rakhecha said: "Cartridge World has a strong presence in all the major Indian cities … the slowdown has catalysed our growth process. Even the staunchest 'OEM only' user is now ready to give us a chance as cost cutting becomes imperative.
"After the Lake Town store we are set to launch our seventh store in Kolkata located at Kasba in the first week of January 2010 and three to four more stores in the coming year."
The company has been noted for spearheading and supporting many ink cartridge recycling schemes in the US over the past few years.
