Top Printing Resolutions For 2010 Revealed

Looking for any unused printers and centralising purchases of office supplies such as ink cartridges could save businesses money in the new year, according to an IT commentator.

Starting company initiatives to "print smarter" and save on ink wastage through unnecessary printing is also something that many businesses should take into account, said James Gaskin on the technology news site IT world.

He added: "Centralise purchasing with employees' help to contain costs, but also make sure they know they no longer need to sneak and hide supplies. Explain the advantages of faster and feature-rich workgroup printers before you take away a user's personal printer.

"Ask for everyone's help in containing costs of paper and supplies by thinking before printing."

Mr Gaskin also recommended setting up a company credit card or petty cash box from which to buy office ink and toner cartridges, as this is an ideal way to see just how much the business is spending on these units.
