Lexmark Printer Wins Design Award

Lexmark Printer Wins Design Award

A Lexmark printer has been named as an International CES Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering Awards Honouree.

The Platinum all-in-one (AIO) inkjet printer scooped the top prize in the category, which bases its scores on aesthetic look, engineering qualities, unique features and the products overall use and function compared with competitors.

Paul Rooke, executive vice-president of Lexmark and the president of its Imaging Solutions Division, said that the firm's goal is to "provide solutions that go way beyond printing - saving our customers time and money, and being recognized by the Consumer Electronics Association proves we did just that".

He added: "Unique features, such as our SmartSolutions, which make customers' workflow more simple and elegant, when combined with lowest black printing cost in the industry, deliver a value proposition in the AIO category that is unmatched in the small-to-medium business market."

In 2008, Lexmark reported revenues of $4.5 billion (£2.72 billion) from selling its ink cartridges and printers in more than 150 countries.
