Lexmark Platinum Pro905 Boasts Web Based Apps

Customers who want to access and view web-based applications while using printer ink should consider the Lexmark Platinum Pro905.

This is the view of PC World's Susan Silvius, who said that this is one of the model's most appealing features, which is available on its large, touchscreen LCD display.

Unique to Lexmark is that the ink cartridge manufacturer is expecting business users to develop their own applications, which makes the Platinum Pro905 differ from the HP Photosmart Premium Touchsmart Web All-in-One, which features prefabricated apps.

"The web capability is just one aspect of what Lexmark calls 'SmartSolutions,' namely the ability to program a button on the device's 4.3-inch display for walk-up, one-touch execution of a sequence of actions (such as saving scanned PDFs to a specific location on a server)," Ms Silvius wrote.

She went on to comment that the SmartSolutions interface "works pretty well", although its documentation needed to be improved.

The Platinum Pro905 has a 300-page input capacity and a 50-page automatic document feeder.
