A consumer website has named Canon's inkjet printers the most versatile on the market.
ConsumerSearch named the Canon Pixma Ip4700 as the highest scoring due to strong reviewer responses and its ability to achieve a good text quality as well as handling photo printing.
Epson's Stylus Photo 1400 was also named as a top printer, as it "takes top honours in photo output quality".
It was also noted to have a "high level of detail, wide colour gamut and vibrant accurate colours … and can print directly onto CDs and DVDs", a feature which Canon's Pixma does not have.
Also celebrated in the consumer website's list was the HP Photosmart D7560, which is able to "print directly from memory cards".
Despite the website's praise all three brands lost out at the recent Better Buys for Business awards, where printing competitor Xerox scooped the top prizes for its 4112/4127 Copier/Printer.
