Budget Printer Shoppers Told To Think About The Ink

Consumers looking to buy a new printer for their home have been advised on how to do this with a strict budget.

According to a post by Justin Yu on the Crave gadget blog, optional extras and the price of the unit's ink cartridges are all things that need to be taken into consideration.

He explains that one of the first decisions anyone needs to make when looking for such a machine is to decide whether an inkjet or a laser model is best suited to their needs.

"Laser printers use bulky toner cartridges and are typically reserved for home offices that print monochrome text documents and presentations," Mr Yu notes, recommending models such as the Samsung ML-2851ND.

However, he adds inkjet printers offer a "more versatile choice for colour photo printing, web prints and creative projects" and that this can be seen in the selection of all-in-one models currently available.

Earlier this week, a blog post for the If It Prints, I'll Let You Know site recommended the HP Officejet 6000 for the savings on printer ink it provides.
