Brother Printer The Slow But Cheap Option

Brother Printer The Slow But Cheap Option

In an article for Trusted Reviews this week, the Brother MFC-6890CDW A3 Inkjet All-in-One model is put to the test by Simon Williams, who explains why it may be tempting for those looking to cut down on what they spend on ink cartridges.

He notes choosing the high setting – as opposed to the photo mode – will ensure prints come out "natural and well balanced, with smooth gradations of shade and detail", but adds this is not the most frugal or time-saving of options.

Some problems with the unit include use of plain paper print quality and feathering on black text. However, as a money-saver the device could win some users over.

Mr Williams explains black ink cartridges can produce a yield of between 450 and 900 pages, a figure which stands at between 325 and 750 for colour.

"When you work through the maths, this produces page costs of 2.77 pence for black and 6.54 pence for colour," both of which he concludes add up to good value.
