Is Your Printer Windows 7 Ready

With the imminent release of Microsoft's new operating system Windows 7 on 22nd October 2009, most people will be purchasing the upgrade versions to naturally upgrade from earlier versions of Windows such as XP and Vista.

Here at Internet-Ink we like to keep at the very forefront of whats going on in the IT and Printer industry, and offer as much advice as we can to our customers.

If you are looking at upgrading to Windows 7, Microsoft have a Windows 7 upgrade advisor for free download off their website.

With the printer plugged in whilst the upgrade advisor is scanning your computer it should be able to tell you if your printer will be compatible with the new release of Windows.

Alternatively you could visit the manufacturers website of your printer to see if they have an updated driver available for your printer.

Having looked at a few major manufacturers websites this morning, they seem to be actively updating their drivers to make them Windows 7 compliant, and some have a release schedule for drivers.

By not updating your printer driver may cause you to loose valuable features from your printer, or for the printer to not work at all.
