The Lexmark C748de is a high capacity 1200dpi laser colour printer, and among the fastest the review website had tested. The C748de produced inkjet-like photos and sharp black text.

The C748de takes both the standard capacity C746 toner cartridges and the high capacity C748 series cartridges .

The review website commented on the Lexmark C748de print speeds: "The Lexmark C748de is fast by any standard, and finished second only to the Dell 5130cdn in our tests. It prints monochrome pages at 18.7 pages per minute on the PC and 17.9 ppm on the Mac. On plain-text documents, the output rate reaches about 27 ppm."

Overall, the reviewer gave the Lexmark C748de 4 out of 5 stars, stated that although it's pricier than most colour lasers the C748de delivers better quality and cheaper toners.
