Rubbing Alcohol Could Dissolve Dried Printer Ink

Purchasing some rubbing alcohol may be all that is required to unblock a printhead that has been clogged by dried printer ink.

A blog on Boosh News has highlighted that it should be easy to spot if a print nozzle is clogged as the quality of documents will suffer through white lines being present on a print out.

However, the blogger noted that rubbing alcohol has the capability of dissolving any dried ink to clear up the problem.

"For most printers you can fix the problem of a clogged print head nozzle is to, put some rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and rub on the print head," they stated.

"Then get a clean dry paper towel and wipe the printer head dry, and if any ink is left around on the print head clean this up also."

However, printer owners should also check their warranties in case they are entitled to have their printhead changed for free.
