Brits To Shop Online For Ink Cartridges This Year

Many Brits will be heading online to shop for printer ink and toner cartridges this year, new research suggests.

According to comparison website Kelkoo, more than 25 per cent of seasonal shopping will take place online this Christmas, Internet Retailing reported.

Its study found that Britons will spend more on gifts than those in other European countries, spending an average of £437 per household.

Overall, UK shoppers will spend more than £13 billion online in total, as they head online to search for Xmas pressies, gadgets and ink cartridges.

Chris Simpson, chief marketing officer at Kelkoo, was quoted as saying: “In spite of public spending cuts across the UK and the rest of Europe, the research suggests that overall household budgets will grow by one per cent this Christmas in the UK compared to last year and online spending will continue to thrive, playing a key role in propping up overall retail growth."

According to Nathan Emberton from ComputerHope.com, consumers can expect to see dozens of new printers and ink cartridges coming onto the market over the coming years, such as 3D printers.

"While most consumers don't need a 3D printer, the concept of a printer capable of printing a physical object always amazes me," Mr Emberton stated.
