HP Tells Autonomy Staff They Have A Bright Future

Business HP has told workers at Autonomy that they have a positive future, despite the company's founder leaving last week.

The Cambridgeshire-based software developer was bought by the printer ink giant last year, with Reuters reporting HP chief executive Meg Whitman as saying that it is still committed to Autonomy.

Ms Whitman described former manager Mike Lynch's departure as a result of poor performance, noting: "There's a discipline about financial responsibility for senior leaders in any organization. It was about bringing the executional skills to the business."

Mr Lynch will be replaced by HP's chief strategy officer Bill Veghte, with Ms Whitman conceding that it is "always hard" when a founder leaves an organisation,

Last week, HP confirmed new restructuring plans that are set to see around 27,000 workers leave the company by October.

The move has been made in a bid to simplify business processes, advance innovation and generate yearly savings.
