Canon printer offers photolab-quality snaps

The latest photo-printing product from Canon offers users specially-designed ink cartridge technologies for efficient and crisp results, says the manufacturer

Canon has unveiled a new printer which it says, when combined with its ink quality technologies, can offer photolab-quality prints of pictures, web pages or word documents.

The PIXMA iP2702 also uses Pigment Back ink to produce crisp text and incorporates the firm's FINE (full-photolithography inkjet nozzle engineering) technology.

According to the global printer and ink cartridge manufacturer: "This gives users grain-free printing at resolutions of up to 4800X1200dpi with a 2pl droplet size - and is ideal for documents, web printing and photos."

Printing from the PIXMA iP2702 takes an average of 55 seconds, but while not as fast as some of the latest models from manufacturers such as HP or Brother, the ChromaLife 100+ technology incorporated into the printer combines the manufacturer's photo paper and specially designed inks to give a sharp and crisp result.

Canon added: "ChromaLife 100+ works by combining Canon’s FINE technology with Canon Genuine Photo Paper, which offers vivid colour and high durability, and dye-based inks, which allow rich colour reproduction and further durability."
