Printer and ink cartridge manufacturer Canon has settled a dispute with five other Japanese companies over patent infringement issues.

Global printer manufacturer Canon has announced that 2010 will mark the 20th anniversary of the introduction of the firm's toner cartridge recycling programme.
First launched in 1990, the programme now collects units in 23 countries and, as of the end of June this year, has collected approximately 220,000 metric tonnes of toner cartridges.
