Canon To Work With Adobe On New Printing Solution

Canon is working with Adobe on a new partnership to deliver printing solutions.

The collaboration, which was unveiled at the ImageRunner advance print platform event in Barcelona, involves a number of technologies provided by Adobe integrated with Canon's printing hardware.

ImageRunner Advance will allow users to scan documents directly to SharePoint while further integration will enable paper documents to be turned into PDFs.

Gary Horsfall, director of Global Sales and Professional Services at Canon Business Solutions, Canon Europe, told The Financial: "Working with industry-leading partners such as Adobe has allowed us to develop value added capabilities on the ImageRunner advance platform which we expect to deliver tremendous benefits to regional and global organizations.

"The combination of Canon's advanced innovation and Adobe's industry-leading technologies will allow both companies to offer their customers enhanced document management solutions as well as improved document security."

Canon added that the integration should afford IT users a greater level of flexibility and control when using printer ink and cartridges.
