Epson Looks To Inkjet Printer Growth In India

Epson is aiming to achieve 25 per cent growth in its Indian business this year. The ink cartridges provider is hoping that its latest inkjet office printers will help to attain this objective, with one representative claiming that the systems can replace laser machines in the country, reports MyDigitalFc.com. Ram Prasad, deputy general manager of consumer products at Epson India, said: "Inkjets used dye-based ink earlier and hence the print didn’t last for more than two years. The latest toners come with pigment-based ink. Compared to genuine laser toners, they are 100 times cheaper." Mr Prasad added that lasers may not be reliable because many parts of India suffer power cuts and the systems must be connected to single battery inverters. Recently, Epson boosted its operations in India by launching its nSolution programme in an effort to improve relations with partners in Kerala. Epson Offers Cashback Promotion on Laser Printer

Printer ink maker Epson is offering customers cashback when they buy one of its laser printers. Purchasers of the firm's AcuLaser C1600 device will receive £50, it announced in a statement. To benefit from the promotion, customers need to register online at the epson website. Once registered, they will receive the money via bank transfer. The company said the offer is part of its "ongoing commitment" to offer its customers continued value. With a current retail price of about £130 (excluding VAT), the promotion represents a "significant saving for buyers". Customers have until March 31st 2011 to take up the offer, and customers who purchase the C1600 on or before that date can redeem until April 30th. The laser printer can handle a duty cycle of up to 25,000 pages per month and has a print speed of up to 19 mono pages and five colour pages every minute. Epson Adds to its Business Printer Portfolio

Printer ink maker Epson has launched a new printer series designed for businesses. The AcuLaser C3900N portfolio prints both colour and mono documents at up to 30 pages per minute, with built-in network connectivity. Epson said it is designed for medium-sized workgroups. High yield ink cartridges and double-pack black ink cartridges, which use optimised cost-per-page output, will help businesses cut their running costs. With two paper input feeds and an optional 500-sheet tray, large print jobs are easily manageable, too. "The AcuLaser C3900N is one of the most affordable colour laser series of its speed on the market. With a low cost-per-page and high specs, it offers medium-sized businesses and corporates excellent value for money," Peter Silcock, market development manager at Epson UK, said. The series will be available to purchase from the second half of December 2010. Epson's AcuLaser C1600 Reviewed

Printer ink manufacturer Epson's new AcuLaser C1600 printer is a significant addition to the firm's current printer range, it has been stated. The successor to the AcuLaser C1100, the new C1600 is a functional printer useful for both the home and business, according to azooptics.com. A duty cycle of up to 35,000 pages per month, coupled with a print speed of five pages per minute for colour copies 19 pages per minute for mono prints, means the C1600 is a sophisticated device. Its printer ink cartridge, the AcuBrite toner, is of "high-quality", the news provider said, and boasts a 1200 by 600 dots per inch print resolution. Its toner cartridges are "high-capacity" and the printer has a power-saving function, helping to reduce running costs. Khalil El Dalu, Middle East general manager for Epson, told the news source C1600 will compete well for price with other printers and will work well with the vast majority of desktop PCs. Last month a technology expert, John Dicarlo, said Epson printer ink cartridges are of high quality and mean the firm should be considered "among the premium brands of printer ink cartridges". Businesses Told To Expect To Pay More For Best Printers

Small businesses have been told that they will get what they pay for when deciding on which printer to purchase. Consultant Gene Marks has written for Business Week that there is a reason why certain printers and ink tend to cost more than others in the market place. He advised small businesses not to anticipate a cheap printer to be the workforce of a company and to be realistic with what they desire in terms of the quality of output and the amount of print jobs it is expected to handle. According to the news provider, Mr Marks said: "Why do box seats at a baseball game cost more than the bleachers? Why does a BMW cost more than a Honda Civic? It's because good things just cost more. "Same goes with technology. The rule of thumb in buying technology, like anything else, is you get what you pay for." However, he noted that just because more money has been spent on a computer does not mean that it will definitely be more reliable than a cheaper offering. A senior business manager at Epson recently told the Business Standard that those looking to cut costs would be best served by purchasing cheaper printers rather than using cheap ink cartridges in a more expensive device.
