Picture Quality
The picture quality was good but not as good as i expected it to be. I was disappointed as i scanned in a favourite photo of mine and then printed it to send to family members etc etc. But although the pictures on the product showed perfect pictures coming out, that is not what happened. what came out was a faded picture of its former self. I was ANGRY no not really but I was slightly disheartened.
Speed. Oh baby its quick!!
I was amazed by the speed. I mean i know i slagged off the picture quality before but this bad boy prints out 18 pages a minute. Since I am in GCSE period an need those quick prints for my geography coursework which are about 40 pages long. My old printer would take ages to print all of this off. I was extremely happy with this.
Colour, Reliability and easy going printer.
As i said before. when printing out pictures, the pictures seemed quite faded and dim etc etc. But when printing out pictures from the internet, then its a doddle and it creates an exact replica of the picture. This printer is very reliable but sometime can have random signs flashing up there. But all you have to do is press the closest button to it and its fixed. You have to take time loading the paper though, if you don't it gets angry and starts sending paper everywhere! But apart from that there are no problems
Looks.
Looks great but not for just any old reason, it saves space with its square shape making it fit in easily with the rest of your PC (tower and other random stuff you may have down there). In short, it is space efficient.
This is a multi function printer, what else could you want with such a low price machine
The instructions were confusing, I was puzzled with the amount of languages on one page. The English was in the middle somewhere, which was annoying! But that was only how to plug it into your computer and how to put in ink cartridges. I gave up in the end and just looked at the pictures, they were easy to understand. They must have been good as I had no need for manufacturer support.
This printer was astoundingly cheap. I saw printers in the shop for 160 with the same amount of Functions, I mean sure they probably printed better pictures etc etc. But this printer was only 69 pounds. But its a Printer/Scanner/Photocopier. I was impressed. It may well have been on offer though
I would recommend buying this product as it will save you money for a good standard printer.

The Epson Stylus Epson DX3800 is the best printer I have used myself so far it is quick easy to use and reliable the only problem I have found with this is that the ink cartridges drain quite quickly I think this must be the down side of excellent quality photos.
As the Epson Stylus Epson DX3800 it can be used for Scanning, Printing, and Photocopying.
When you are photocopying the all in 1 has the option to be used alone or with a computer you can also choose if you want the copy to be in colour or in black and white.
Setting this all in 1 up is simplicity itself all you have to do is plug in the cable, insert the four colour cartridges and install the supplied software and then your ready to do what you would like with it.

The Epson Stylus Epson DX3800 is a great multi purpose printer, I run my own business and use the printer to make brochures and they are really good quality.
The printer can also be used as a photocopier and a scanner so its great value for money.
The pit falls are that it is quite big and only just fits into my computer desk, so always check the size before you buy, and it is very slow but the quality is so good it is worth the wait.
On a whole I think the printer is a great addition to any home or office, mine has never given me any problems (touch wood) its only problem really is the time it takes to do anything. But if you can put up with that it's a great printer
(it cost £50 about 4 months ago
ink can be readily obtained on the internet, I pay £40 for two of each colours and they do last quite a while though couldn't say how long exactly.)

Introduction:
The Epson Stylus Epson DX3800 is a brilliant printer it comes with many features such as a scanner, photo copier, photo printer and many more. The thing that disappointed me was the fact that it didn't come with a usb computer to printer cable which you need to install the printer and print photos which annoyed me a bit. The Epson DX3800 comes with a sticker which you can put on the top of the printer next to the buttons and it tells you what they all do.
Photo quality and photo options:
The quality of the photo's is exquisite, you can choose from many size's such as A4, 10 by 15 cm and a lot more. I liked the idea of the paper type option, options range from Epson ultra glossy to Epson Matte.
If you're on a tight budget and either running a small business or perhaps working from home as a student, the prospect of getting your hands on a cheap printer that will also treble up as a scanner and copier is likely to appeal.
To meet that need Epson has unleashed two new multi-function series; the Stylus Epson DX3800 and the DX4800. The Epson DX3800 is a stylish and compact, grey and white, 3-in-1 unit that is comparatively lightweight and connects handily to your computer via a USB 2.0 cable (as usual, not supplied!).
Setting it up is simplicity itself. Just plug in the cable, insert the four colour cartridges and install the supplied software and you're ready for action. Epson has introduced a new ink - DURABrite Ultra - which is designed to produce laser-like images that are water- and smudge-resistant.
Although economy is in mind with the separate cartridge system (you merely replace them individually as they run out), our tests showed that printing glossy photo images at the best setting on A4 takes well over eleven minutes each and is severely draining of ink. Even at a very reasonable £6.60 per cartridge, you may have to tailor your quality to your budget.
Having said that, the authenticity of the colour reproduction is of a very high standard, with a resolution of up to 5,760 optimised dots per inch, and this is further enhanced by Epson's Micro Piezo print head technology which allows the printer to control the size of the printed dot. Text reproduction is good without being exceptional and you can reach speeds of 18ppm on the lowest settings.
In contrast to the top-end print speeds, the scanning and copying velocity is much quicker, with a resolution of 600dpi. The operating instructions are again child's play; lay the image on the glass and hit the relevant control button on the lid, which includes a handy Fit To Page command as well as the choice between plain and glossy paper.
The enclosed CD provides the Epson Creativity Suite which allows you to manage and edit your photos, attach them to e-mails or send them to the Web, and comfortably adjust image sizes and resolutions.
If you have an extra £30 in your wallet, you might think it better to upgrade to the DX4800 as you get a slightly higher print speed (20ppm), twice the copying resolution and an increasingly vital accessory these days; five memory card slots. This is in addition to it being Pictbridge and DIRECT-PRINT compatible
his is 42x45x14cm with paper input and out trays extended. It is cream with a grey lid for the scanner. To install everything took only 10 minutes on a reasonably fast PC, very little intervention is required once you have decided what to install as the software installations are linked. It took 435MB of hard disc space.
Printing nonsensical 200 word documents in draft mode came through at 15PPM, however a 1500 word document spread over four pages was only slightly over 8PPM and to be honest I was not happy with the grey shading and the horizontal lines that form the letters were clearly visible making it seem like dot matrix output. This mode on the unit is really only suitable for proofing.
This is a four ink offering, however unlike most other units of this kind it is not two cartridge (one for black and one for the colour containing the three colours) there are four cartridges extremely useful if you tend to use predominately one colour so you do not end up having to throw away part used cartridges simply because one colour is exhausted.
As regular readers will know as far as printing photos is concerned I am not over worried about printing times only the print quality. The print quality over a range of images printed A4 borderless and four images to A4 page borderless is fine however printing was slow. I recently remember a unit that took under four minutes to print similar images the time taken by the Epson DX3800 was 14 minutes and 10 seconds, so bad that I repeated it, quality fine, speed naff.
With these units I always tend to copy a few pages after the insertion of ink cartridges and before I have installed the software just to check the unit is working okay. A lot of people will use the unit with the PC off just for the odd copy or three. I was quite happy with the quality and certainly if you need colour copies the price of a stand alone colour copier is still high. However not all is perfect as the speed was not good, just on two minutes for a full A4 colour copy and around 40 seconds for the same page in black and white.
The quality of the scanning engine is fine - copying is a good way of proving that - and the OCR software is perfectly adequate giving quite acceptable results. Should you do a lot of copying then a full copy of 'whatever' scanning software is always going to give better results as it learns as you use it, but for anyone who does a bit of copying, some scanning and mainly printing a full price scanning software package is not really on.
This is rather a curates egg of a product, poor draft print quality, normal and above are fine, printing speeds are slow especially for photo images, copying speeds are also slow but output is fine. Having separate colour cartridges is something that could appeal but I have to say that at or near the price there are better units out there.
