Light home office users looking for an "inexpensive" laser device should consider the Dell C1660w Colour Printer.
Computer Shopper reviewed the device and awarded it three stars out of five.
Among the plus points the writer picked out was the printer's low initial outlay price, being easy to set-up and use, as well as being compact and light.
However, the reviewer did note that there was a relatively high cost per page and limited support for mobile devices and internet or cloud facilities.
They concluded: "Most prospective buyers of the inexpensive Dell C1660w would choose it because doing so saves them money.
"If you really want to save money, though, make sure to evaluate how much you’ll use it before dropping your hard-earned cash."
Business users who regularly travel might consider the HP Officejet 150, which was recently noted to be durable and value for money.

The Dell B3465dnf mono laser printer has been praised for its fast speed and high maximum capacity.
David Stone from PCMag awarded the machine its Editors' Choice honour for its high quality output, seven inch touchscreen control panel and low cost per page.
"Based just on its output quality, print speed, and standard paper capacity, the Dell B3465dnf Multifunction Laser Printer offers more than enough to make it a good fit for a small to mid-size office.
"The ability to copy, fax, email, scan to FTP sites, print from and scan to USB keys, and more, plus the large touch screen with its well-designed menu system, makes it even more attractive," Mr Stone explained.
He went on to say that the machine's graphics quality is "just short of the top tier" for mono laser MFPs, meaning it is a good system for delivering Power Point print outs, and it may even be useful for producing articles for clients and customers.

The Dell B5465dnf printer has been reviewed by PC Pro, picking up a four stars out of six rating.
David Mitchell from the website explained that the mono MFP is aimed at large workgroups with sizeable printing demands and an eye for value, while its 66ppm speed is the fastest in its class.
"It combines print, copy, scan and fax functions, and tops them off with built-in duplexing. It also has an enormous 10.2in colour touchscreen, which looks very impressive but isn’t well made – it broke away from its hinged mounting during testing," Mr Mitchell stated.
However, Mr Mitchell went on to say that the touchscreen offers easy access to a number of printing features.
Dell faces stiff competition in the printer market from a number of companies, with HP, Canon, Xerox and Samsung among its rivals.
Canon's i-SENSYS LBP7110Cw is one printer that could prove popular, boasting an energy efficient design and easy wireless setup.

Dell's C1765nfw printer has been criticised by a writer from ExpertReviews.co.uk.
Simon Handby from the website explained that the machine is a "decent colour LED MFP", but admitted it is let down by its expensive running costs.
Mr Handby described the system as "space-efficient", as it can be kept to a manageable size and weight, making it a practical choice for a home office.
"This isn't a bad multifunction if you don't need high speeds, as it offers acceptable all-round performance and great print quality. Unfortunately it has very high running costs.
"Even calculated using Dell's “high capacity” supplies, which are only rated for 2,000 pages (black) or 1,400 pages (colour), each page of mixed black and colour graphics comes in at a whopping 17.8p," he explained.
It is important that shoppers take running costs into account when they come to buy a printer.
There are many types of machines to choose from, so it is important for consumers to take their time and pick one that suits their exact needs.

The Dell C1765nfw system has received a seven out of ten score from ITProPortal.com.
The website admitted the machine's lack of an auto-duplexer and its below-par text quality were drawabacks, but cited the quality of its graphics output and its Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity as benefits for consumers.
As well as this, the system can be used to print from mobile devices, as it is compatible with the Dell Mobile Print for Android, while it will also work with the iOS edition of the app, which is due for release next month.
"The Dell C1765nfw Colour Multifunction Printer is a compact, capable LED-based multifunction printer that boasts good output quality, especially for graphics, but is a little sluggish for its price," the website stated.
Earlier this month, the US Computer Emergency Readiness Team warned consumers that certain Dell and Samsung printers could be susceptible to hackers.
It has suggested that unauthenticated attackers could be able to access devices and make configuration changes.

The Dell C1765nfw printer has been criticised by one reviewer due to its high toner costs.
Martyn Clayden from PC Advisor described the machine as a relatively affordable colour laser printer for businesses, but claimed it misses "several obvious opportunities".
Mr Clayden praised its ability to send faxes as well as print, copy and scan, but noted that its control panel "jutters" unnecessarily over the front of the machine, meaning the output arm underneath it is often obscured.
"On the speed front, the Dell C1765nfw is a bit of a mixed bag. Mono documents emerge at the stated speed of 15ppm and colour at 12ppm. Printing an A4 photo from a memory stick took a zippy 15 seconds. Yet copying text documents from the ADF is grindingly slow," he continued.
With companies such as HP and Epson hoping their printers sell well this Christmas, Dell has been left in a competitive industry, though it recently released ten new machines.
Among these are the B2360d Mono Laser Printer, C1760nw Color Laser Printer and the C1765nfw Multi-Function Color Laser Printer.

Dell has announced that it is updating its product range with ten new laser printers, covering colour, mono and multi-function (MFP) devices.
They will help businesses to maximise workplace productivity and office efficiency, allowing customers to manage their print tasks reliably, digitise their content for sharing and integrate document processes.
Keith Kmetz, vice president of IDC's imaging, printing and document solutions research practice, said: "Dell is in a solid position to capitalise on the MFP and printer market's transformation, because it offers a full range of IT products, solutions and services inside and outside of the printing and imaging market."
He added that Dell recognises the "vital role of multi-function printers in today's evolving workplace.
The machines also benefit from Dell Printer Easy WiFi Installer, which lets customers enjoy a fast and easy printer set up.

The Dell B1265dnf laser printer model has received six out of ten in a recent review.
While the system was praised for its impressive text output quality, it was criticised for its bulky size and poor standards of photo output in the article by David Stone for ITProPortal.com.
The hardware is capable of printing, faxing and scanning, while it can also operate as a standalone copier and fax machine.
"The Dell B1265dnf Multifunction Mono Laser covers all the bases for most small office needs. In addition to printing, scanning, copying and faxing, it delivers a potentially attractive balance of speed, output quality, paper handling, price and features," Mr Stone wrote.
However, he advised that those who want a system boasting fast speeds should instead focus their attention on the Canon MF4570dn.
Both Dell and Canon face many rivals in the printer market, including Brother, which recently picked up acclaim for its HL-5470DW system.
ExpertReviews.co.uk writer Simon Handby said that the hardware is "much faster than an entry-level mono laser printer".

The Dell B1160 system has been commended for its "very good" print quality in a recent review.
Macworld Australia looked at the hardware and gave it three out of five, citing its compact size and fast printing speed as two of its best features.
The printer measures just 178mm high and 331mm wide, meaning that it can fit easily onto most workspaces, allowing extra space to be used for other equipment.
"Most inkjet printers below 0 (£100) will struggle to print eight pages per minute (ppm) in black and white. The Dell B1160 doesn’t quite reach Dell’s estimate of 20ppm, but it did churn out our Word test documents at a snappy 17ppm," reviewer Cliff Joseph wrote.
However, businesses and individuals may want to explore the market before they commit to buying a specific system.
The HP Deskjet 2510 printer might be preferred by some, with TrustedReviews.com giving the hardware a commendable seven out of ten.
