Dell has expanded its ink cartridges solutions technology with its OpenManage Printer Manager. According to the company, its latest software can help simplify the printer networks of consumers. Westcoast has sealed a deal to distribute Dell Printers' products to business consumers in the UK. Dave McNally, head of imaging sales for Dell, noted that this partnership is only the second of its kind for the printer ink company. According to Dell, the new link up has kicked off this month and will allow Westcoast to distribute a full range of ink and toner cartridge supplies and more. Mr McNally told channelweb.co.uk: "We believe we are making significant strides in offering complete coverage to resellers across the UK. Westcoast demonstrated all the right credentials and plans that will enable us to grow our business." Recently, Dell noted that during the second quarter of 2011, its services revenue was up six per cent on the first quarter of this year, and up 11 per cent from 12 months ago. Dell, the ink and computer company, has expanded its relationship with SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing) to improve cloud computing for business customers. The partnership will see new Dell products using SAP In-Memory Computing technology to speed the transferring of company information for organisations. Computer and printer firm Dell has expanded it networking and storage range of devices on off to small and medium business owners. Furthermore, the company claims its new products will help firms benefit from a higher performing and flexible IT system. Dell's new PowerConnect M8024-k Ethernet blade will help streamline business networks and reduce their operating costs, the manufacturer stated. Dario Zamarian, vice president and general manager at Dell Networking, said: "With ever-increasing user demands, enterprises are looking to manage growth by scaling bandwidth and delivering more virtualised services." He added that the new technology provides companies with a seamless scalability and a much more efficient system. Recently, Dell announced that it had stopped over 68 million kilograms of its electrical products, including computers, printers, monitors and accessories from going to landfill sites in the last year. Ink cartridge producer Dell has announced that it will recycle 150 million pounds of its electronic products during 2011, rather than sending them to landfills. This is a 16 per cent increase on its commitments from 2010 with a goal to recycle one billion pounds worth of devices by 2014. Furthermore, Dell Reconnect in the US joined with Goodwill Industries in 2004, making it easier for people to recycle their unwanted electrical appliances including computers, printer and ink cartridges. Mike Watson, director of Dell's Take Back programme, said: "As we strive to reach our one billion-pound target by 2014, we're focused on educating people and creating awareness on the benefits of computer recycling and how Dell makes it easy to do so." He added that the company's recycling record was second to none. Recently, the firm announced plans to open a research and development centre at Silicon Valley. The money will provide solutions and information to help customers using the new technology gain the most benefits. Steve Schuckenbrock, president of Dell Service, said: "Technology advances, delivery methods and the move to disruptive IT models like cloud are changing the fundamental way businesses operate.  "With this transformational shift, businesses are gaining benefits in terms of speed to market and organisational and computer flexibility."
