Dell photo 924 - works well no problems - no breakdown after 2 years and reasonable quality. However, very annoying Dell printer software flags up your cartridge is out of ink and "do you want to send e-mail to Dell for resupply", every time you print if you use remanufactured cartridge or non-Dell cartridges (even though these sorts of cartridge work perfectly well).

I find my Dell 924 very good and easy to use the only drawback is the price of the dell ink cartridges.

I have a dell model 924 good points printing is very clear and its very quick and it is compatible with my desk top bad points its expensive to run. Im at collage and it costs a fortune with all my assignments and no body does cheap cartridges.

Dell 924 Printer, cheap to buy, but works well. However original ink cartridges very very expensive and persistent reminders about state of play of cartridge are very annoying. Keith Holland

I have had this Dell 924 printer for almost 2 years with no problem. I am always looking for cheaper ink cartridges. It is my second printer of this kind. My first one did go wrong, and even though it was out of guarantee DELL replaced it free of charge, by courier within 2 days. So I was very pleased.

My Dell 924 printer is now 18 months old and on the whole still works well. With thin paper it is apt to jam. The cartridges are expensive, compared to other printers. The printer is, however, useful as a photo-copier. With some compatible cartridges, Dell's low ink warning continues to come up on the screen. Margaret Fidler

I purchased my Dell 924 photo printer in an on-line auction site. I am very pleased with the performance, the scanning is fast and good. The draw back, being disabled and on a fixed income, is the cost of the cartridges. I am entertaining thoughts of getting rid of it and going back to my old Lexmark. Not as fast but much less expensive to operate. Too bad that the old bait and switch is still being used to con people into buying something they probably would not have if they knew the true costs of operation.

My Dell 924 is useless, it flags up cartridges as being empty when they are brand new, it only accepts one sheet of paper hand fed at a time, otherwise it jams, the cartridges are expensive and it pops up an annoying message about any cartridges which are not original Dell ones. It actually refused one cartridge because it wasn't original. Am seriously thinking of junking it and buying a Lexmark.

Just thought I would let you know that your product(Dell 924 compatible is first class) and of very excellent finished quality. I have done a lot of homework re. Dell catridges and a lot of people were saying that their printer shuts down after so many prints with a Dell original cartridge,when it is nearing empty. NOT SO! The secret is to fit the compatible cartridge before the original runs dry and under no circumstances, print an alignment page,which the printer now requests every time the printer is switched on. The printer knows something has happened,but just can't quite fathom out what it is!! Anyway,thanks again for an excellent service. Kind regards, Angus Begg

This is a good all round printer but suffers from the BIG DRAWBACK of being dedicated to Dell's own cartridges. It is programmed to accept ONLY Dell cartridges and as such is a complete disaster because of the high cost of replacement cartridges from Dell. I would NEVER buy another Dell printer unless the high cost of replacement cartridges came down considerably plus the ability to use recycled/refilled cartridges from another maker. Ken

I agree with all the previous reviews. A great printer, but has a racist personality. It insists that its cartridges are better than anyone else’s. Don't get me wrong, the cartridges work but the printer repeatedly kicks me with its infernal messages to replace the cartridge every time I want to print. Dell price themselves out of the market for the original cartridges. So 10/10 for the printer reduces to 5/10 because that's how much of a pain its personality disorder is. Colin Trafalgar
