Your Reviews So Far
we have got two printers an Epson photo RX620 its ok but you need to keep cleaning the heads, and after so many prints it need reprogramming, just stops working with an error message on screen. the other printer is a Cannon MP510 that works great.
Epson Stylus Photo RX620 - VERY GOOD ALL ROUND ALL IN ONE PRINTER 9/10
Epson RX620 - very unuserfriendly, with ink ---uses a lot of ink Printer is bulky and ink cartridges are expensive so non user friendly Quality is good.
Epson Stylus Photo RX620 Pros Does everything it is supposed to. Nice feature to allow scanning of negatives and can print directly from a memory card. Easy to use. Cons Original Epson Rx620 ink cartridges are expensive and cannot be recycled.
I now have a Epson Rx620 photo and will never buy anything else. I have tried various brands but Epson are the best.
I have an Epson Stylus Photo RX620, and so long as I use it every day for full colour printing (see what I mean ?) it outputs extremely well. But I detest the pushy software, which is always (a) threatening me with death if I use any other ink cartridges than Epson’s own usuriously-priced products, and (b) uttering dire warnings to the effect that the printer will explode if I don’t replace various parts immediately... However, these are empty threats, as your own alternative ink cartridges demonstrate, as does the fact that the printer continues to perform without injury to me. In fact, if it wasn’t for the "do-this-or-else" software, I could almost like it. I say "almost" because the paper-loading mechanism is very picky about the papers it will load, and needs constant strict discipline if it’s not to jam. It’s easily fixed when it does, but I’d just as rather not have to help the heavyweight matt photo paper in every time. I therefore accord this machine a reasonable 75%, ie, 3.75 out of my maximum 5 out of 10. Yours ever JW
This Epson rx620 printer is ideal if you are short of space for both a printer and a scanner, having said that it is a fairly bulky piece of equipment. The print quality is excellent, although I do find that it uses a large amount of ink cartridges and does need resetting after so many prints which can be annoying. It is not a printer for the inexperienced user, although definitely one to go for if printing photographs. It is a poor text printer, so if text is what you print most - buy something else. It has memory card slot access at the front - very useful as you can access data through the printer in much the same way as a card reader. Overall a very versatile printer with some good facilities - 7.5 out of 10.
Can thoroughly recommend Epson Stylus photo RX620, especially if you have a digital camera. EXCEPT that, having owned it for 30 months I have today received a message that some parts in it now require servicing and/or replacement. Do not yet know what this entails or how much it is going to cost. It appears to be still working very well and likes your Epson ink cartridges! Jennifer Thomas
Epson Stylus RX620 This printer produces stunning A4 photo prints. The colours are very ’true’ in particular the blues are superb.Prints are also highly detailed and full of contrast. I use the printer for landscape shots and portraits and have never been disappointed with the results. The only drawback is the inkjets get blocked if you don’t use it, e.g every week, and there are 6 ink cartridges that cost a fair bit to keep replacing. The printer also scans and photocopy s. I would totally recommend this printer and consider it one of my best ever purchases. Regards Chris Oxlade

My Epson rx620 printer, scanner, photocopier is great, every morning i copy the su doku so me and my wife can both do them, it works like a charm, the ink lasts well, and it certainly has quality when you need it. Speed inst great but at least it is quiet. Jenny Whitney
I have an Epson photo stylus RX620 which is fine takes most of the flash memory cards you can print straight away or save to computer and the same with the scan, had no problem with epson inks but they so expensive and i use equivalents they can work really well but sometimes after a few times of printing there will be an error and you can’t print i take out the offending colour wipe electrical connection refit and it will work again for a few times only once have i had to disgaurd one cartridge at three quarters full. Haven’t tried your inks yet.
Epson Stylus Photo RX620 Great printer. I have had it for a couple of years now and the results are still amazing. Recently started using the scanner side abit more as I was asked to transfer some 50 year old wedding photos to DVD and to do some reprints. Excellent results. The printer itself comes with a built in card reader, so you can take your card straight out of your camera and print direct. Another handy feature of the card reader is that you can use it to transfer files to memory cards for phones PDAs etc. It also has PICTBRIDGE for compatible cameras. Useful for direct printing. Bundled software is great for setting up the print quality, number and size of prints but I would invest in a good quality photo editor programme to get the best out of your shots. The printer also copes brilliantly with all the usual mundane tasks such as letters, presentations etc. Also doubles as a colour or black and white copier, and the Epson software lets you use it as fax machine. important to note that it can be used without a computer, but the onboard editing is limited. I use compatible Epson ink cartridges from yourselves and can find no difference in print quality. The only difference is the cost per print, which is considerably cheaper than using Epson ink cartridges. Tony Marchese Rishton
Ref my comments on the Epson RX620, it has now carried out its threat and denied me further access. "Parts inside have reached the end of their useful life" it says - shortly after the expiration of the 12 month guarantee... No way I can fix it myself, it seems, since it refuses to tell you which parts have expired ! It won’t even do a headclean, let alone print, although it will still scan. No repair shops within 50 miles. An internet search reveals that this has happened to others. New printer bought - Canon this time. Law requires stuff to be "Fit for intended use". Depends if "Fit" includes "for use for reasonable time after guarantee expires"... Planned obsolescence is back and is simply adding to the destruction of the planet by creating excessive waste.

Bought a new computer with Windows Vista - was told by PC World if printer more than 2 years old would not be compatable. Believed the "experts" and puchased a CanonMP600 for £140. I was not very happy with this printer - very good design but... Decided to see if I could use my old Epson Stylus Photo RX620 and with some very easily resolved compatibility problems I used it just fine. Printed the same picture on both and the Epson was head and shoulders above the Canon. PC World did refund the money even though I had bought it in August - without question. Perhaps not the first!! I don’t know whether this is the sort of information you want but I would like to warn people.
My Epson Rx620 is a very capable printer though switching between default B&W printing and default colour is excessively complex. The scanner works well, it prints well. The interface with the computer works well and it is very reasonably priced. Thanks.
I’ve had my Epson RX620 for about 10 months now. I bought it because my wife suggested buying an all in one, which I had never liked the sound of (i.e. one failure could ground all the others). As I had become an Epsonian some years ago, it had to be an Epson. I’ve printed over 1500 photos plus calendars / graphics etc., and couldn’t be a happier bunny. I’ve only used one set of genuine inks and they came with it on purchase. Compatibles make this printer the best and most cost effective printer to suit our needs - and when I won an HP printer in a magazine competition, I gave it away, rather than change my RX620 - think that says it all !! Good Luck, Pete O’Hara
Great Printer, used to have the Epson RX620 but it died, this is better as it will also print directly to disc, and which is really good quality although the ink takes a while to dry. i tend to prefer original cartridges but only if i can get them at a discounted price otherwise i will use compactibles although some are better than others. Overall Great printer for photo’s, documents and discs i give this printer 9 out of 10 Paul Joensen
This is the second Epson Printer that I have owned. Purchased on review recommendation from Amazon. It is a source of major regret. It is ink thirsty, ink pricey and riddled with problems. The scanner and print function for black and white is good and it will copy coloured worksheets for my wife who is a teacher. (expensive but necessary). However, ask it to produce a photo from a digital camera and the result is a very expensive joke. This printer is the advertising that other manufacturers dream of and if tried before purchase will cause the customer to buy something else. The first Epson was ok but slow and kept jamming paper. My son has an HP. Ink consumption is minimal, quality is excellent and it does not jam. Guess what I am looking at buying? Not Epson that is for sure.
A good printer and scanner producing good results. Let down by the impossibility of connecting wirelessly to a laptop running Vista and a desktop running XP. For operation 9, for connectivity 7.
