Epson Stylus R300. Excellent.Does all it says on the tin

I use an Epson R300. I am happy with it as I find it uncomplicated to use and the results are usually perfect.

Epson Stylus Photo R300 I have had the above printer now for a few years, and I have been extremely pleased with it. I like the separate colour cartridges which I feel are more economical in the use of inks. It prints beautiful photos and likewise word documents. Different printers have been used in the past ie Lexmark and different Epson models and I would rate my current model as the best given it 10, as I cannot think of bad points. Eileen Sless

EPSON Stylus PHOTO R300 First Class printer with very good Colour Prints produced. The Transparencies Adapter involves removing the White reflective pad which is a chore and the process is so slow that I have now got a dedicated slide copier. It would be nice to have a multi slide adapter which I believe Epson now has but much more expensiveI will carry on with what I have got..

Epson Photo R300 Series - Good machine which produces excellent results but, its slow....

Epson R300 Photo - I’d give it 6 out of 10. Each of the 6 inks run out at completely different rates which make it hard to buy sets in bulk. The quality is no better that my previous 4 colour printers.

Epson Stylus Photo R300 Had it for about two years and have used about five or six sets of replacement cartridges so far with excellent results and without having to resort to Epson’s ludicrously expensive ones. I’ve had Epsons before and while the quality of the print - b&w and colour - has always been good, they are incredibly slow to wake up and none too zippy when going about their tasks. But my main beef is that the printer refuses to work if just one cartridge needs replacing, even if you just want to do a simple black and white job if there’s no Light Magenta there’s no function. I’m looking forward to trying the included CD print attachment. Overall I would give this machine 8 out of 10.

My printer is an Epson Stylus Photo R300, I use it for printing items from the net and also typing letters etc. I also use it a lot for printing my photographs which I have downloaded from my camera, it might not be the best but it works for me. Pamela

This Epson R300 printer is grand - bought it because it was cheaper than the one which has a little review screen. Results are excellent. No problems.

Although not used on a daily basis I am very pleased with my printer. I only use internet-ink.co.uk for my Epson ink cartridges, not only for their reasonable prices, and quick postal service, but for their patience and politeness when dealing with any queries. Marks out of 10? A resounding 10, plus a gold star!!! Sincerely, B. Garnett.

I’ve used your compatible Epson inks for several years now and they are brilliant (in every sense of the word!) I have an Epson Stylus Photo R300 printer and I print out a lot of photos (which means I use a lot of coloured inks!) and I’ve rarely had any problems at all. I really wouldn’t have been able to afford to do so much printing if I’d had to pay full price for Epson brand ink cartridges. I was really pleased to see in my last batch received that you are now labelling the outside of cartridges with both the colour and the Epson letter/number code. Thank you. The previous delivery didn’t have this on the packaging and it took me ages to sort them all out! Please also consider that we don’t always need two free black ink cartridges - having bought several complete sets in the past I now have far too many black inks to use up so this time I’ve just ordered the colour ones I need, which probably costs a bit more but I have limited storage here. Sets of just the colour inks without any black would be a nice option to have. A tip for home users like me who like to keep just a few ink cartridges of each colour available for use: when your order arrives, make little piles of each colour and then keep each set together with two rubber bands. That way you can see immediately how many you have left and when you need to reorder - saves all that delving in the big envelope to find the colour you want and then discovering you’ve run out! Happy printing! Mary Hilton Sawbridgeworth, Herts

I have an Epson R300 photo printer. It is really very good as it works with the computer or stand alone just printing photos directly off the memory card. It was extrtemely good value for money and the ink cartridges from you are also very good value especially as one colour is replaced at a time so if one colour runs out, the whole cartridge isn’t useless. The quality of the printing is excellent for my own requirements and it is very simple to use. Nicola Noble

Have owned this Epson R300 Stylus printer for a couple of years and found it to be very reliable. It produces excellent copies in both colour and black. Seems to run slower than the manufacturers quoted speed but is otherwise a good buy.
My printer is the EPSON STYLUS PHOTO R300 I have found it suits me down to the ground!! There are many facilities that I do not use, but those that I do use are all that I need. I highly commend this printer. W. Allen Shropshire

The Epson Stylus R300 is the best printer I have ever used, easy to use , easy to change cartridges, and I would certainly buy Epson again. 10 OUT OF 10

Our Epson R300 printer is about 2 years old and we are pleased with the results. We give it 8 out of 10

The machine does all expected of it and when working regularly is excellent, but It is painfully slow in getting started and I often wonder if the buttons aren’t working. My only problem has been when I haven’t printed in colour for a while: the effect is awful. I now know that I have to give it a complete cartridge maintenance check to get the colours back to normal. It is worth mentioning that you have to ignore the warnings that inks are running out as there is usually quite a lot left. I now wait til it actually does run out before changing. My thanks to Abitech for listening to all these comments and now doing a set of inks without the black. Nick Tracken

Hi, I use your Abitech cartriges for both my Epsom R300 and D88 printers. Both printers have performed faultlessly and the prints seem to have a long life so long as they are not subjected to direct sunlight. I used to refill my own cartriges on previous printers but your cartriges are so economical to use and besides it saves all the messy fingers. (Apart from the fact that the newer generation of Epsom cartriges seem to be impossible to refill!!). Keep up the good work. Regards Ron Bird (new order placed today)

Dear Sirs I am completely satisfied with the quality of you inks for my Epson R300. In spite of the remarks which Epson put on the screen when I print that your cartridges are not the proper ones according to them Thank you for your prompt service. A very Happy and successful 2008 to you all. Yours sincerely, Norval Young

Epson Printer Stylus Photo R300 Priced at around £120. A4 capacity, rear mounted vertical paper feeder. Uses 6 cartridges for CMYK printing. That does mean if one colour runs out first then only one cartridge is changed. As they are separate cartridges they are also slightly larger capacity. That means more printing per tank. The ink monitoring system could do with improvement. It reminds one at 20% and just about 10% level and then stops the printer shortly after that. This means there is always some unused ink thrown away. Maybe that is why the tanks were made a little larger. The supplied software gives the drivers and the usual Epson ink monitoring system. Loading from the CD is straight forward with Microsoft Xp. No problems experienced with the software until I tried to use ’non proprietary’ cartridges. The issue is easily resolved when you use the tips supplied on the www.internet-ink.co.uk website. Connection to the printer is via USB. This has given no problems and seems to be reliable in use. I have tried using this printer on our home LAN with two different types of interface and have ended up using the USB link again. So Epson may find an advantage if a suitable interface was fitted into their models. I would suggest that it was fitted with the USB and Ethernet capability as standard should anyone ask me. The connections choice would suit a wider range of users, in my opinion. There is a screen option available for this model but the price of it did not make it a viable notion as a similar screen is now supplied already built in on some later models. I have seen an example of the optional screen and I thought it was more a waste of good materials than a useful device. This is especially when considering the price at the time was around £70. Assuming, that is, that you could obtain one. All round it has not given any trouble as yet. The start-up is fairly quick and a lot less noisy than a newer printer/scanner I bought from HP. In operation the printer is reasonably quiet although not silent. I’m happy enough with it. . . . and if I was asked to recommend it then the answer would be - yes. L. Parker

I have used an Epson Stylus Photo R300 for a number of years and had no problems. Quite a lot of photos have been printed with great success. I have also used the port for downloading Photographs from my camera. Inks used all the time have been Abitech

I have had my Epson R300 for over 3 years and it has served me well. Sometimes when I am in a hurry I find that the first print after initial switching on of the printer does seem to take time, but as I have said that’s usually because I’m in a hurry, but the following prints operate much more to my liking.

I am very satisfied with this model by Epson. In fact it is probably the fourth Epson printer I have owned over the years. Its print-quality is good, its quiet working is efficient and ’easy to live with’. After the supplied own-brand inks had been exhausted I switched to ’Abitech/Internet-Ink’ company with continued print quality and excellent service. I moved to Epson after owning a Lexmark which I found to be very noisy in use and a poor second to Epson.

I use an ’Epson Stylus Photo R300’ printer and find it does a great job of printing out my holiday photo’s,mainly because I can put my memory card from my digital camera straight into the printer, and in doing so I by-pass the monitor and computer and don’t have the problem of trying to calibrate your monitor and computer to your printer, which is not easy. All in all, a good photo printer at an economical price.
