Your Reviews So Far
Canon Pixma 4200 Excellent quality and still very reliable after one years use for my more quality work.
My Canon Pixma ip4200 is a brilliant quality all round printer thought the E U had stopped manufacturers fitting chips to ink cartridges so high price when you require replacements till now. will check the price in future of ink cartridges before buying a printer.
I have had a Canon Pixma ip4200 printer for approx 2 years from new and am very pleased with it. As long as I occasionally clean heads etc; it gives great results. Recommended Regards
I have a Canon Pixma ip4200 which i am very happy with it does what it says on the tin, but just by chance i am having trouble with ,the black ink it needs a clean.
Printer review - Cannon Pixma iP4200 I have no technical knowledge of IT gadgets, but do a fair amount of WP and DTP stuff, requiring a decent quality of print-out. The Canon Pixma ip4200 replaces a defunct Epson, and is a big step up in quality of print both for text and photographs. Its very good, versatile and easy to use, and so far has been very reliable, unlike the Epson. Minus point is the cost of ink refills, and the Canon has FIVE tanks! I bought some cheaper replacements via internet, but then had the fiddly job of removing the tiny chips off the originals to fit onto the new tanks. Not a doddle. I have limited experience of printers, but Id give it 8 out of 10. Regards - HB
Ive had my Canon Pixma ip4200 for a couple of years, originally for quality document use, but Im now printing digital pictures from my new Nikon. The results are stunning using good photo paper and its fairly fast. The down side is the software that is designed to stop you using non Canon ink cartridges, however, use Internet-Ink ink cartridges and follow their instructions. Youll get the same quality for half the cost!
Canon Pixma IP 4200 GOOD POINTS:- 1. Print fantastic quality photos. 2. Prints out a page really fast, compared to previous printers i have owned. 3. Fairly easy to refill cartridges (I was never entirely successful refilling an epson printer i had previously). 4. Prints on both sides of pages (duplex) really well, without having to manually move the paper. BAD POINTS:- 1. OEM cartridges are REALLY expensive (why I dont use them). 2. If cartridges are refilled or non OEM cartridges are used, warranty is void plus the ink monitoring system is switched off.
FROM THE EDITOR :- Please note that our ink cartridges will not invalidate your printers warranty
Canon PIXMA iP4200 Bought because it was supposed to print high quality photos and use less ink than others because of the technology. Didnt notice that I was using any less ink and found the cartridges expensive so moved to compatibles. These are a bit fiddly because I have to move the microchip every time. It prints most things well but Im always disappointed with photos - often the black comes out blue or purple striped half way down even though the cartridges have plenty of ink left or other times the black "pools". Since Ive been using compatibles it wont print on CDs anymore - the belt gets jammed. One or two of the cartridges wouldnt stay in place - they popped up despite being clicked in properly. If I was buying again I would chose a printer that had a reasonable reputation for photos but took cheap compatibles without fussing with a microchip. Negative: having to change the microchip and no longer being able to print CDs Positive: automatic duplex printing which saves paper 5/10
How does the canon ip4200 get away with using chipped cartridges its like buying a car that can only run on one make of petrol dont but this printer unless you have big pockets
i have 2 canon printers a IP4200 and a IP4300, they are the best printers i have had. I print around 15000 photos a year and have never been let down, the compatible cartridges i have in my IP4300 have been refilled 47 times up to now without any drop in quality, every 3rd refill I clean the heads and replace the cartridges and off it goes, many thannks canon 10/10
I would not have another Canon Pixma iP4200 only because the cost of the inks is so expensive
This is a great printer but very expensive on cartridges so I only use it to print labels for dvd and cd,s. The quality of print is great and its easy to use. I dont experiment with generic ink cartridges so maybe it would be cheaper then but not willing to risk the consequences. I have had it for 2yrs now with no problems but then I would expect nothing less from Canon.
