Brother MFC J825DW Deemed Unremarkable The Brother MFC-J825DW printer has been described as unremarkable by a reviewer at WhatCulture.com. Simon Handby from the website explained that the system is one of the most fully-featured inkjet multi-function printers in the manufacturer's range, as it is capable of printing, scanning, copying and faxing. However, Mr Handby described its performance as "unremarkable", explaining that scans were lacking detail and often appeared slightly blocky. "With an impressive set of features and reasonable running costs, this MFP looks promising, but in reality it's no match for the Epson WorkForce WP-3540DTWF, which is cheaper to buy and run and produces better results," he noted. Mr Handby went on to say that although the scanner has high speeds, these are not matched with quality. While the MFC-J825DW printer came in for criticism, Brother's MFC-J4510DW machine has been awarded four stars in a recent review by PC Advisor. Robin Morris from the website explained that its black and cream design and straightforward setup made it a great option for consumers. Posted by Barry Ashmore.

Brother MFC J4510DW Awarded Four Stars The Brother MFC-J4510DW machine has been awarded four stars in a recent review by PC Advisor. Robin Morris from the site commented on its attractive black and cream design, while its straightforward setup was also praised along with its sizeable 3.7 inch colour screen, making it easy for consumers to operate. "If you're primarily needing a graphics printer, you'll find better models. But text output is good, and the features set substantial. Throw in the added convenience of the odd A3 document, and the Brother MFC-J4510DW has an awful lot going for it," Mr Morris explained. However, he did concede that colour ink was often faint and watered down, meaning those who are looking for high image quality may be left underwhelmed. Brother's MFC – J510DW printer is another one of the ink specialist's systems that has been reviewed in recent weeks. ComputerShopper gave the machine its Editor's Choice award, with William Harrel from the website admitting that testers "liked the Brother MFC-J4510DW a bunch". Posted by Barry Ashmore.

Brother MFC J4510DW Collects Computer Shopper Award Brother's MFC–J4510DW has been awarded with the Editor's Choice award by ComputerShopper.com. The machine has been lauded for its ability to print ledger-size pages from a manual input tray on the back of the system, while the output quality has also been deemed as "pretty good", particularly when printing images and graphics. "On the whole, we liked the MFC-J4510DW a bunch. Granted, its print quality with business documents is not quite laser-quality, but it’s definitely close enough for most business applications. "Apart from that caveat, we had few quibbles with this printer. We recommend it and knighted it with our Editors' Choice award," William Harrel from the site noted. PCMag.com has also praised the machine, with David Stone from the website noting that the system has all the features that office workers require. Mr Stone commended its automatic document feeder and Ethernet and Wi-Fi capabilities, adding that it could be the perfect fit for those who need to print tabloid-sized documents. Brother Unveils Business Smart MFC-J4510DW Printer Brother has announced its new Business Smart MFC-J4510DW printer. The hardware boasts a compact design and aims to deliver fast colour printing, while it also offers a touchscreen to make processes easy for consumers. As well as this, the system's ink cartridges are stored in a little hatch in the lower right corner of the machine, while automatic two-sided printing removes the need to turn paper over manually. Another key feature of the printer is its ability to print in both landscape and portrait format, with the company claiming that it can deliver 20 pages in black and white and 18 in colour per minute. The Business Smart MFC-J4510DW arrives after Brother unveiled a number of label printers. Its QL-700 series enables customers to print stamps directly from their desktop, courtesy of a free subscription to Pitney Bowes' SmartPostage solution. The printer can also generate shipping labels and track packages via internet-connected computers. Posted by Barry Ashmore.

Brother Unveils New Label Printers Ink cartridges provider Brother has introduced a selection of new label printers. The QL-700 series allows consumers to print stamps directly from their desktop, thanks to a free subscription to Pitney Bowes' SmartPostage solution. It also enables small businesses to print shipping labels, track packages and other documents from any internet-connected PC without having to download software. Linda Sanford, director of marketing for Brother labelling products, said: "The ability to use a Brother label printer to print stamps right from your desk will help save users valuable time that might otherwise have been spent travelling to and waiting in line at the post office." Ms Sanford went on to say that the company is looking forward to working alongside Pitney Bowes. Her comments come after ChannelBiz reported that Brother is aiming to boost its VAR market share by introducing a range of mono laser printers. The systems will be geared towards small and medium businesses. Posted by Barry Ashmore.

Brother DCP-J140W Printer Quality Deemed As Nothing Special The printing quality of the Brother DCP-J140W has been judged to be "nothing special". Simon Handby from Expertreviews.co.uk made the assessment, citing the device's lacklustre performance on plain and photo paper. Mr Handby noted that, while the standard was far from extraordinary, photos from the Brother printer were "more than adequate" for occasional use.  However, the reviewer had positive things to say about the system's tray. "The 100-sheet paper input tray seems more robust than we've seen on some of Brother's other printers, and it coped perfectly with a stack of paper which we had stored so awkwardly that it had developed a pronounced curve," he explained. With regard to setting up the DCP-J140W, Mr Handby described entering a network passkey as a "little bit of a fumble", but admitted that it is otherwise "easy to set up". Before deciding on a printer, it is important for consumers to fully explore the market, as there is a variety of devices to suit different needs. Posted by Barry Ashmore.

Brother Aims For Bigger Share Of VAR Market With New Printers And Ink Cartridges Ink cartridges manufacturer Brother is aiming to increase its VAR market share by launching a selection of mono laser printers. These machines will be targeted at small and medium businesses, with the devices marking the first time that the company has provided maximum speeds of 40ppm, while paper capacity has jumped to 1050 sheets, reports ChannelBiz. Speaking to the news provider, Andy Forsyth, senior general manager of UK sales and marketing at Brother, said: "We’re extremely proud of our very strong performance in the VAR/SI channel, which is purely down to the long-term relationships we’ve developed across this sector." Mr Forsyth cited market intelligence as another reason why the company has been able to develop efficient printing solutions for customers. Brother's profile in the industry was boosted recently after it was announced as the sponsor of Channel 4's business programmes, with the Drum reporting that the move will see the company endorse shows such as Secret Millionaire and Undercover Boss.
