Ink company Brother has released a series of printers aimed at adding to the efficiency savings already available with printer ink cartridges through a variety of green features. Known as the Brother compact MFC series, features within the new arm of the Brother family include a multi-task option, the chance to save paper with automatic duplex printing and the availability for connections to multiple users with a wireless network. This will not only streamline the printing process itself, it will also improve the levels of efficiency and waste when it comes to equipment costs and outlay. Ms Kelly Wilson, brand and marketing manager at Brother International Australia, claims that the printers are designed to be as efficient as possible for homes and offices alike. Ms Wilson said: "With the innovative Web Connect Cloud Printing function introduced in selected models of this series, Brother is constantly improving and introducing new technology into our products to enable consumers to experience convenience and efficiency anywhere." Heavyweight printing firm Brother has announced a number of additions to its team in order to help its progression as a top manufacturer of printers and ink cartridges. As part of a reshuffle, the firm has taken on Cathy Ellis and Rick Wallis who between them have over 42 years within the printing industry in a variety of roles and companies. It is hoped that the reshuffle will allow Brother to capitalise on future products and continue at the top of the print game. Phil Jones, sales and marketing director for Brother UK, said: "The expansion of our sales team and the creation of the new job roles means that we can continue to exploit profitable areas of the print market by targeting key customer groups taken from our industry insight and expertise." Printer and ink cartridge manufacturer Brother has announced a series of printers which will be released into the market during a launch at The Armani Ballroom in Dubai. Yuji Furukawa, representative director and senior managing executive officer at Brother, was the guest of honour at the evening's event and was also flanked by other senior members of the company. The event saw the launch of a variety of A3 and A4 printers including the MFC -J6510DW (A3), MFC-J6910DW (A3), MFC–J430W (A4), MFC–J625DW (A4) and the MFC–J825DW (A4). As well as launching these products, Brother also used the event to announce Brother AR, the company's upcoming augmented reality (AR) service. Mr Furukawa said: "As a famous saying goes, 'You don't just sell a machine, but a concept.' Brother, with its rich experience and pioneering history, could not have achieved all this success without our partners and the millions of Brother end-users, who are not only from this region but from across the world." Brother has been named the best printer manufacturer at the PC Pro Excellence Awards. The printer ink firm was honoured with the accolade for the quality of its products and print quality. Furthermore, Brother won both the laser and inkjet categories after it was evaluated for value for money, reliability and speed. Phil Jones, sales and marketing director for Brother, told uspmagazine.com: "Achieving best printer vendor status in the UK with PC Pro is a fantastic accreditation for Brother and a testament to our dedicated team and consistently evolving range of products." He added that the company's focus is to continue to improve its offerings and products for consumers in the future. Recently, Brother announced that on a like-for-like basis its overall turnover in the last 12 months was 4.7 per cent up on last year's figures. Ink cartridge customers looking for a printer that can provide them with cheap, reliable running costs could like the Brother DCP-J125 injet printer. According to Cliff Joseph, a technology specialist at PC Advisor, the machine is sturdy and can look good in any bedroom, home or office. He noted that the DCP-J125 also has a built-in scanner and copier and can be connected to via USB cables or wirelessly. On top of this, Brother estimates that the model can print up to 33 pages per minute for mono documents and 27 pages per minute for colour files. Recently, Brother released its HL-2250DN laser printer, which the company claims is easy to use, produces good quality text prints and looks good in any office. Brother's all-in-one A3 device has become a popular choice among businesses in the multifunction printer market, the company claims. The firm noted that following the launch of its inkjet printer its uptake has grown across the European continent. On top of this, Brother claims the device brings affordable and effective printing solutions for companies. "This success has been strengthened by our careful strategy of supporting ambitious small businesses, who appreciate the importance of effective technology." An ink and toner recycling scheme set up by Brother less than two years ago has helped save over 2,000 acres of rainforest. The Brother Earth charity has helped protect over 80,000 mature trees and 380,000 saplings in conjunction with the Cool Earth organisation. Furthermore, the printer firm noted that for every four drums of toner cartridge and eight ink cartridges that are recycled it saves a tree in the Peruvian Amazon. Phil Jones, sales and marketing director, said: "The environment has been at the heart of what we do at Brother for nearly 15 years. "The Brother Earth initiative is a clear reflection of this focus, and we are the only printer manufacturer to be involved in such a scheme." Recently, printer ink firm Ricoh announced that since it set up a recycling programme in 2008 the company currently collects back 85 per cent of the toner cartridges it sells. These efforts involved the company's commitment to energy conservation, waste management and developing its wide range of networks within the community, including its charitable bodies. Phil Jones, sales and marketing director at Brother, said: "It's a huge honour to be one of the very few companies that achieve this award for sustainability, and testament to the great work being done every day by the company and its staff."
