Marks Out Of 10 :- 9 My Comments :- I have had this Brother MFC 5840CN ’all-in-one’ printer/fax/scanner/copier for one month. i find it such a helpful and easy printer to use. The print quality is very good, including photo prints on glossy paper. 2 separate trays means that you can select the paper type for any given situation. Would’nt be without it. I just hope that the REALJET ink cartridges I have purchased from you will do it justice.
We replaced our Epson printer with this Brother MFC 5840CN last June, and it has been brilliant. Easy to use and the print quality is good. Your compatible cartridges have worked well, and no warning messages such we got from the Epson printer. The final proof will be, how long will it last with quite a high usage? The Epson managed about 2 years!

The Brother MFC-5840CN is OK printing from PC. OK photos. Photo card slots useful. Like being able to have several cartridges, rather than one expensive one. Replacement ink cartridges not too dear. Slow to print in some instances when using flat bed, seems to be in scan mode at times. Paper jams not uncommon. Location of access panel at rear to clear jams very inconvenient. As unit not meant to be switched off it isn’t so ’eco friendly’. Some software problems at times causing PC not to start up or recognise printer, sometimes sorted by pushing in power & or USB leads!!!??.
