Your Reviews So Far
Our HP Deskjet 540 printer has been in almost constant use as a b/w home printer for 11 years, obtained as an ex-demo model. Been used with an Archimedes and 2 PCs. Usage: about 4 or 5 40ml printer ink cartridges per year, for mainly typewritten sheets and a little art work. Maintenance: 1. The waste ink reservoir (tray) has been cleaned out once. 2. The head position detector strip has been wiped clean once. Comments: 1. The feed paper position guide could be a little more positive in its adjustment. 2. canceling printing, after starting, takes a long time. Overall: A dependable machine. HP cartridges available on eBay at about £3 - £4 (out of date, but otherwise good) Not now manufactured but wouldn’t hesitate to buy a secondhand one. Graeme Trudgill
