Epson R240 is a simple printer, to begin with you think that the control panel is baffling and you will need an instruction booklet for each use. But after about 3 or 4 prints I was fluent. To be honest, I’d rather pay more and have more buttons on mine because it makes for god fun working it out. The cartridges on the R240 are easy to insert just like the rest of the Epson ones.
Epson Stylus Photo R240 Marks Out Of 10 :-8 My Comments :- Photo quality is good, but with using 4 cartridges if one needs cleaning it uses a lot of ink, as it cleans all 4 heads. It wastes a lot of ink.
I have an EPSON R240 Photoprinter it is excellent value for money with its own card reader.Its in constant use, printing Word documents daily and produces Fantastic Photographs! it has 4 separate Ink Cartridges, I use internet-inks own ink Cartridges they are really good and at around £3.50 each you cant fail! Sir/Madam Re your request - I have had my Epson R240 printer for about one year and am absolutely pleased with it; not only for plain letters; but also for prints of photographs I have done. My previous printer was an Epson which I used for about 5 years and only changed because it was reaching its "scrap by date". Thank you for asking. My Epson R240 is a good printer with many functions. Multi card reader, viewing screen and simple easily understood functions operation. Very heavy ink and paper costs if you are using Epson products.
We bought the R240 to replace a Canon Pixma that frankly was a waste of space. The Epson has proven to be a good choice giving good quality print (on all settings apart from Draft) at a reasonable speed. We used up the Epson cartridges quite quickly so changed to the internet-ink compatible cartridges. All was ok for a while but after about 3 changes of cartridge the nozzles started to clog. After trying to clean the nozzles using the software we reverted to the EPSON (expensive) cartridges did one clean and all was ok. Now that the EPSON cartridges have run out (all too soon!) we will revert again to the compatible cartridges but will take the precaution of buying the cleaning cartridges (again from Internet Ink)
