Dear Sir, I have recently bought an Epson Stylus PHOTO 1400. I previously had a run of three 1290’s which were very reliable. They eventually came to the end of their life, and I bought the 1400 purely on the advert in a magazine. I have since met people who have bought the printer and say they like it. I find it a very quiet machine, and appears to be a well made. The way it indicates which ink has run out with a pointer is helpful. I am about to use it for a big continuous run of 200 A4’s, so I shall have a better idea how good it is when I have done that. So on what I know I’d give it 9 out of 10. I have recently bought this printer to replace an old Stylus 1250 which had finally died. It seems quick, quiet and produces very good prints, although I am having some problems with colour matching against the image on the display. I'm assured that this can be fixed by profiling both the printer and screen, so will be doing that soon. Hopefully that will fix the problem and I will get what I see, which will be excellent. A good printer at a reasonable price, but could be expensive to run!
