EPSON DX5000. Fed up with the high running costs of a Lexmark, this was the same entry price as a Lexmark all in one, but with four separate inks, you only need to change that colour, instead of the whole colour one on a Lexmark. With compatible inks, it’s even cheaper. It’s fast, silent, copies well, scans well, and prints very well indeed. On glossy papers, exceptionally well. It’s slightly more complicated to set up and there are far more option buttons, but it’s like getting used to a new mobile- after a while you forget the old one and then that’s all you need to know. I bit the bullet, got rid of the Lexmark, and have never looked back. Definitely I would recommend it.
The Epson stylus dx5000 is a very competent allrounder, achieving good results with fairly good quality prints and quick print speeds. The scanner does exactly as it says on the tin. It scans well and quite quickly to a reasonable resolution. The bundled software allows for full automation which detects document type and sets resolution and colour depth itself. The only down side with this machine is the noise it generates when drawing the paper into the unit for printing. The printing itself is whisper quiet, but when the feed mechanism pulls that sheet of paper in, boy does everyone know about it !!! The Card reader is a handy feature in addition to the pictbridge connectivity. Usual Epson gripe about being ripped off by having to change so called empty inks. I use compatible inks without any problem. Ratings: scanner - 8/10 printer - 6/10 vfm - 6/10
My printer is Epson DX5000 combined with a scanner. No bad points to name Very pleased with the results. Always bought Epson printers. I would rate this one 10 out of 10. The reason for buying Epson printers are because I think they are good value and the compatible ink cartridges are cheap enough to purchase. From yourselves EXCELLENT VALUE. Cheers Paul
model epson dx5000. good printer with a but!, will not allow for a standard size envelope without alot of messing about not wide enough to accept envelope, also you have to have the printer below eye level otherwise you can’t operate without standing up to see controls
EPSON STYLUS DX5000. Although a very light user I am very happy with performance and quality of both photographs and plain paper copies.
Hi I have an Epson DX5000 printer, and use Abitech ink for it. I bought the machine over 2 years ago, and print at least 30 A4 pages every day on it, and it has never let me down. Kind regards June Stait

The Epson DX5000 is a good printer, but the new one does not accept compatible ink cartridges so is expensive if you do a lot of printing

On the whole I am very happy with the Epson DX5000 printer/scanner. One difficulty is on printing envelopes, the standard business envelope doesn’t fit into the printer in the usual way. I have to go through word no matter what programme I am on. The usual Epson trouble with compatible cartridges, it won’t give ink levels so I have to wait until one colour runs out and the printing is then stopped even in the middle of printing a document. The copying facility is very slow but the scanning is excellent. Hope this is of some interest Pauline Pearson

No bad points to name always happy with the results always bought a Epson the card reader is a handy built in feature in addition to the pictbridge connection l use compatible inks without any problems and because they are a lot cheaper then Epson Original inks
I have an epson dx 5000, which I was been running on your compatible ink cassettes for well over 12 months, which may I say were very good value and very good ink I was using 711 - 714long life compatible sets.And with a 10 percent discount as well
