Had this printer for well over a year, and it works reasonably well, but with two major areas of concern.  Firstly, it is very greedy for ink. Secondly, the paper sheets don't always feed in easily, and there is much cursing, followed by the sheets having to be fed in one at a time.  They also don't always go in straight, resulting in skewed printing and the need to do it again, which wastes ink.  I wouldn't buy another Epson. FROM THE EDITOR :- I would recommend checking that your paper tray is correctly setup to the size of your paper and that the paper you are using has no damaged or folded corners.

My DX4850 is very good on all counts except: 1: it is very poor at feeding paper into the printer 2: Since I loaded Internet-Ink cartridges, the printer nags me that I am not using Epson cartridges every time I print anything !

Hi my printer is an Epson Stylus DX4850 - I have been running the printer well over 12 months and have found it has performed in all aspects very well indeed. I have an Epson DX4850 all-in-one (printer, scanner and photocopier) which I have had for a couple of years now. So far I have found no problems with it and would consider it good value for money.

Epson DX4850 No problems with this printer except when one ink cartridge is empty it won’t print anything until you replace it, which is very frustrating at times. Score 8/10

I have had this Epson DX4850 printer for about 18mths and whilst I am happy with both its size and capabilities I am most unhappy with the vast amount of ink it uses - even when I don’t do any copying or printing!! The print quality isn’t great and I am now sourcing a separate machine with which to print photos. I would not recommend Epsom. This machine is inferior to both the Canon and HP which were my previous machines.

My Dx4850 is a very good printer and scanner the only problem I have is when I turn off the message that I am using the wrong ink it wont let me change or replace my ink cartridges can you help with this problem I give it 8out of 10.

I have my Epson DX4850: It’s prone to clogging with its own ink, the head cleaning process uses large proportion of ink in cartridge and often returns an ‘unrecognised cartridge’ message which leaves cartridges unusable even though they are full. You can end up with stacks of unusable full cartridges, seems like an Epson scam to me. I will never ever buy Epson again and would urge others to avoid them like the plague. Zero out of 10

I have an Epson stylus DX4850 I’ve had this printer for about 3 years and it’s been used lot but have had no problems with it so far.

The Epson ink for this unit works out at £1452.72 per litre. The machine is not as good as my old Lexmark 3 in 1 and the software is not as user friendly as the Lexmark. Picture quality for photos is good. But the thing drinks ink. Don't buy it at any price.
