We have an Epson DX4800 stylus printer. It is a bit bulky but otherwise suits us because it copies as well. It prints satisfactorily, including photographs on semi-gloss paper, even with your alternative cheaper ink cartridges. However, I think it may be cheaper to get more than the odd photograph printed on a shop machine because of the speed the ink cartridges get used up. I am only guessing, I have no way of comparing the costs. Marjory Dodd

I have had my Epson DX4800 for a year now, it is an excellent machine, does 3 functions in the one machines, fairly compact, quick and neat. I am very pleased with it and would recommend it. I have an epson DX4800 printer. It is a free replacement for the original, which failed to photo copy properly. this one works well and provides good quality copies and printing ---- rated 8/10.

Hi I use an Epson DX4800 combi scanner with card reader this printer is run on non Epson cartridges and the results are excellent, also we have a BT 50e fax machine which is also run on non BT cartridges and also refill kits very good machine. In the past i have used an Epson C 48 printer but it was not much good even with epson ink cartridges. Yours David Jackson

Hi i have an Epson DX4800 colour printer and find it a useful printer as it is a photo-copier, scanner, printer and also has memory card slots for easy access to my digital photo’s.. Downside.. wish it printed faster.. and was not so big and bulky. It also uses a considerable amount of ink.. otherwise a nice printer.. ideal for home use.. Lorraine Khelfi current abitech customer

I have an Epson DX4800 Printer with a scanner and photocopier incorporated. I find it very reliable and have been more than happy with it. I have been using my Epson DX4800 for a couple of years now. I am very pleased with it. The printer does everything that I need and frequently I have people using it for photo copying etc. I really like the idea of seperate colours as thay can then be completely used. I usually use compatable cartridges and have found them to be just as good as the originals there for they are very cost effective. The last cartridges I had were from your company and they are quite long lasting. I give the printer a 9/10 and the cartridges 10/10.

Shocked to see that my Epson Stylus DX4800 run out of ink so fast. My previous printer allowed me to use colours to make up for black and announced it. I hardly use colours for printing. This printer is only good feature is it protracts Epsom's ink revenues.

Most high Street outlets are charging £35 + for 4 cartridges which only contain about 14ml if ink. At that rate 100 ml cost over £50, which is the cost of decent French perfume ! I have tried several third party alternatives, which don't always work first time, after fiddling, they may get accepted, but after a while with ink lots of ink sloshing inside, the DX8400 printer rejects them, with a message "cartridge not recognised" !. My advice for your health's sake and money in your pocket, buy other more user friendly makes. This is the last time I even buy any thing with an Epson badge on it. Epson needs to make a printer that can be easily refilled with cheap ink . Mario Chomicz
FROM THE EDITOR: - The technology used by Epson to calculate how much ink remains in a cartridge estimates how much you have used and subtracts it from the ink in a standard fill cartridge. This is why your cartridges are sometimes rejected. To solve this problem I suggest removing and replacing the same cartridge so that your printer thinks you have inserted a new cartridge.
