Your Reviews So Far
I have only just purchased the Epson Stylus DX4400 after using a HP750 for four years. It was very reasonably priced (just under £60 from Tesco Direct) and provides all the functions I require. It is quite slow and noisy compared to my previous machine, but at almost a third of the price I’m not complaining. The copies are of excellent quality (every bit as good as my previous HP model) although I haven’t tried any photos yet. Overall I’m happy if I get a few years out of this machine, I wanted a change from HP because it was quite unpredictable e.g. sometimes it wouldn’t copy, it kept giving error messages and in the end although the printer worked OK the scanner and copier packed in altogether. Then when I uninstalled it from my computer, it wouldn’t re-install . In the end I cut my losses and went for a new machine.
I’ve only had my Epson DX4400 for a few months but I have already used all of it’s functions with superb results Would recommend it to anyone
Hi I have recently been updated through default to DX4400 printer, I have to be honest and say it has caused me more problems than I have ever experienced with any printer. I opened the sealed box to find only the printer, no cables, no ink , no software. ONCE INSTALLED it worked for about one hour before failed to print. I uninstalled then reinstalled said ready to print did about ten minutes then showed no ink. installed all new ink cartridges, then half the colour and black print was missing. Cleaned the nozzles. checked print has worked for one day and at present feeling sick again. When it did work the print and photo quality were good. Rating 3
I recently purchased an Epson Stylus DX4400 printer, during a Sale, for £39.99. Print quality is good, but I miss the resolution menu which seems to have been replaced with, Draft, Text, Text&Image, Photo, Best Photo, etc., instead of, Economy, 360dpi, 720dpi, 1440dpi, etc. I used to like to know at what DPI I was printing at. However, the results, printing text and also photos is quite acceptable. The scanner operation is reasonably fast and the software controlling scanning, provides the necessary controls to scan the way I like to. I would have liked a film scanner built in, but at the price I paid, that would be expecting too much. The photocopying function is superb, no problems there. All in all, an excellent machine for the price, with one major exception, it sounds and makes the noise of a train running on broken rails, nothing like the quiet purr of my old Stylus 880. However, I would never have bought this printer if I had not been able to buy compatible ink cartridges, it would have been beyond my means to pay the prices for original epson inks. Regards, Tom
DX4400 DESERVES 10 --if I find it simple at 85 it must be great- especially at such a low price!!!! Regard and thanks for its multi-purpose June Whyte
I have only just purchased the Epson Stylus DX4400 for just under £40 from ASDA after using an Epson C64 for several years. Anyone got one of those sound insulated printer cases they used to have for dot matrix printers AS THE Epson DX4400 IS VERY VERY NOISY. It also have a very large footprint. Draft print mode is almost unreadable but normal test is crisp and sharp. Printing web photo’s on standard paper is very clear. As with all new Epson’s the case appears very flimsy. Standard black & white photo scans are a little dark. Not tried a colour scan yet ! Rating so far 7/10 Chris
