EPSON STYLUS C86 PHOTO EDITION This is a great little printer. Ultra reliable and speedy, produces high quality photo’s.
Hi, I have an Epson C86, a Samsung ML1210 and a Canon ip 2500 ...... I like the Epson C86, but find it hard to fathom out from your list of cartridges which ones are suitable, the Canon is very expensive on ink, but does brilliant colour photos, and the Samsung is very cheap but in black only. On the other hand the toner lasts for ages. Therefore it goes like this, for quick jobs the Samsung is great, for everyday photos or cards the Epson gives good cheap colour prints, for the quality ones you want to keep then go for the Canon.
I think my Epson C86 is generally ok, but at times the printing is horrible and therefore unreliable. I don’t know if it because the printer is due for replacement (I have had it about 2 years now) or if I have to do a head clean on a regular basis. Any thoughts from anyone else? Cheers.

On my second model now. Thing I hate is it shuts down after a given time of service with the message it has come to the end of its useful life and needs either servicing or replacing and this can happen when its working perfectly so Epson seem to have fitted a kind of hidden time bomb ticking away inside your printer and Bingo..thats yer lot mate,you’ve had yer monies worth,go out and buy another Epson printer!! Do all Epson printers have this "Time/Usage" gadget hidden inside!! With the loot Epson make on their ink carts how greedy can you get I ask.
